Heat treatment
All seamless and welded pipe, other than Grades 8 and 11, shall be treated to control their microstructure in accordance with one of the following method: Normalize at the discretion of manufacturer, reheat to a suitable tempering temperature. For the seamless process only, reheat and control hot working and the temperature range from 1550 to 1750°F and cool in air or in a controlled atmosphere furnace from an initial temperature of not less than 1550°F. Seamless pipe of Grades 1,6 and 10 maybe heat treated by heating to a uniform temperature of not less than 1500°F.Ordering information
Quantity ( feet, meters, or number of lengths) Name of material(seamless or welded pipe) Grade Size(NPS or outside diameter and schedule number of average wall thickness): Length (specific or random) End finish Optional requirments(heat analysis requirement in the chemical composition, stress relieving, reqair by welding, other temperatues for impack test, hydrostatic test or nondestructive electric test) Test report required Specification designation Special requirents or exceptions tothis specificationMarking
Seamless or welded Hot finished, cold drawn Schedule number letters"LT" (except when a lower test temperature is required because of reduced specimen size, in which cas, the higher impack test temperature applicable to a full-size specimen should be marked.) Letter "QT" (when the pipe is furnished in the quenched and tempered condition).Packing for ASTM A333 Gr.6 Seamless Steel Pipe
